Design Refreshes
Refreshes, otherwiese known as redesigns, are changes that can be made to your JBD’s design without the use of items— below are a few examples of what can and cannot be accomplished. These categories can also be mixed and matched so long as the original base design is recognizable.
Original Design
All refreshes will be approved in reference to the original design.
While you can make changes on top of an already existing redesign, a refresh does not change the original design and cannot be approved if it strays too far from the original design.
If a revamp item is applied to the original design, the approval will refer to the new revamp instead.
Hue Changes
- While the entire palette can be altered freely, changes can be more drastic when isolated to a single (or a few) colors.
- Values (the lightness or darkness of colors) can also be altered.
Marking Changes
- This can be defined as changing existing markings into something new or altering the design in some way.
- Large/significant design elements cannot be completely removed.
Color & Marking Additions
- This is when you introduce new or additional elements into a design. These should remain small and not completely change the intention of the design.
- Though the X example shows the addition of different kinds of markings, those additions would be ok to add on their own without the rainbow palette.
1. Go to the JBD you want to change the design of.
2. In their settings (in the left toolbar) select "Update Design"
3. In the "Masterlist Image" tab, upload the image of your redesigned JBD and fill out the required info for it. (Be sure to save before switching to a new tab each time!)
4. Use the "Comments" tab to let us know of the redesign changes you have made.
5. Go back to "Status" to hit submit and your job is done! You'll receive a message once staff has rejected or approved the submission.
*A good rule of thumb for redesigns is if the design can stand on its own seprate from the original design, it's likely too drastic a change.
Keep this in mind when applying your changes!
Design Resets
Resets are extreme changes to a JBDs design that falls out of what redesigns allow. These items change what we consider to be the "original design" of a JBD.
These changes can be accomplished with the specific items provided.

Styling Kit
Allows you to change all existing traits on your JBD at the same level they are currently. (Standard remains Standard, Custom remains Custom)
Does not affect hair (which can already be changed freely).
Mutations must remain the same mutation they were before but can be completely changed from their prior application.

Magic Mirror
Completely alters the design of your JBD.

PHOENIX ELIXIR
Reverts your bean to an earlier version of their design OR brings back a bean's missing limb. Current traits stay the same.
1. Go to the JBD you want to change the design of.
2. In their settings (in the left toolbar) select "Update Design"
3. In the "Masterlist Image" tab, upload the image of your revamped JBD and fill out the required info for it. You must provide the proper credit for the artist of the drawing and the design.
(Be sure to save before switching to a new tab each time!)
4. In the "Add Ons" tab, open your inventory and select the item(s) that you are applying to your bean. You must purchase it before you can apply it.
5. (If relevant) In the "Traits" tab, simply adjust the desired traits you are changing with the revamp item. Don't forget to save!
6. (Optional) Use the "Comments" tab to provide any information or images staff might need to approve the item usage. This is especially helpful for the Phoenix Elixir item.
6. Go back to "Status" to hit submit and your job is done! You'll receive a message once staff has rejected or approved the submission.
