JBD News (JUNE 2023)

We are back and ready to face the month of June head-on! We have quite a bit to cover this month.

QUESTING

May's quests continue into this month! Remember that you can submit a maximum of two of each quest for the combined months of May and June- so if you didn't submit your quests last month, you can still submit them until the end of June.

Lenny enjoying some time at the beach.

✦ A Load Off Your Mind ✦

It doesn't matter who you are- whether you're an accountant, a queen, or a hardened criminal selling illegal potions- everybody needs some time off every now and then! Lentilia has been having some beautiful weather lately, so just about everyone has been taking a little time to relax and take things slow.

How are your beans spending these lazy days? Perhaps they're enjoying an all-inclusive stay at the Legume Lagoon Resort? Or maybe just staying home and binge watching the latest season of their favorite show? Perhaps your bean might even be a bit of a workaholic, and this time away from their job just makes them more anxious...

Depict your bean, an NPC, or someone else's bean (with permission!) taking some time off to just relax.

BONUS: On top of the usual 100 token reward, two lucky winners will receive a free set of Nursery Bean twins drawn and designed by osteoh! If the winner(s) have no mated beans, he is open to letting them use one or more of his own beans as the parents.

Side quests are continuing from last month as well. As usual, they can be found and submitted to here!

MYSTERY JBD

Our game of Mystery Bean continues! Same rules as before- one guess per person, and every user who guesses the bean correctly will win an equal share of the 1000 token prize pot!

Click here to send in a guess!

Last month we had only 20 winners guess the correct bean- the very cute NB-2305, owned by ravemn! Each user who guessed correctly will be recieving their share of the prize- 50 tokens apiece! The tokens will be sent out later today.

A FOREVER HOME

1-image.png

It seems that Bronagh has had her claws full lately dealing with an influx of beans coming to her Adoption Center in search of a loving home to call their own- and she's calling on any and all of Lentilia's prospective parents to consider adding to their family by way of an adoption!

The Adoption Center is now open! Periodically, new beans will appear in the Adoption Center, and can be taken home in exchange for an adoption fee (in tokens, of course!) You may notice something a little odd about some of the beans that appear here- they hatched so recently, they've only developed a few colors and markings! We'll have more info about these beans a little further down in the news post. For now, let's focus on the Adoption Center itself.

Not every bean that you see in the Adoption Center will be a baby- Bronagh's home is open to all who need one- so you are just as likely to see fully designed adult JBDs in the Adoption Center, too. Additionally, if the time has come for you and one of your JBDs to part ways, you can send them to the Adoption Center by way of a Surrender. Once a staff member approves your Surrender, the bean will be moved to the Holding account and eventually released into the Adoption Center for someone else to take home. Don't worry, your bean won't send you a long, sad message to make you feel guilty when you rehome them (though we can't say we didn't think about it)- if anything, they're probably excited for their next adventure. So don't be afraid to use the Surrender feature if you need to!

When you surrender a JBD, you will be given 150 tokens in return- this is a flat rate, and will stay the same no matter what kind of JBD you surrender or what their traits are. When a JBD is surrendered to the Adoption Center, they fully leave your ownership- it is exactly like trading them away. They will usually appear for adoption as-is, but it is possible that they might be given a newly-drawn reference, a design refresh, or even a design reset before they go up for adoption. These are at staff's discretion, but are more likely to happen if a particular bean has been in the Adoption Center for a long time or has been a repeat visitor.

GROW YOUR OWN!

IMG_3281.png

With the opening of the Adoption Center, we are introducing a new category of Jellybean Dragon- the GYO or Grow-Your-Own! These newborn baby beans only hatched from their eggs just recently, and haven't developed their full designs, yet. That means it's up to you- the users adopting them- to flex your creative muscles and finish the design however you see fit!

Grow-Your-Own JBDs are best thought of as MYO slots that come with a few set traits, colors, and design elements to work with. They are typically cheaper than just buying a MYO and all the potions you need to get those traits- but as a trade-off, you have to work within the given prompt. The base color, key traits, and key design elements will all need to stay- but everything else is up to your interpretation. We hope users will have fun using GYO beans as a jumping-off point for making new designs that they love! While we don't have any available for adoption immediately, you can expect to see a couple of them pop up later this month, along with some more in-depth guidelines. Please feel free to use this time to ask questions if you think of some- it'll help us iron out our guides! ^_^

CHANGES TO TRAIT INHERITANCE

Breeding is reopening along with everything else- with one change. We are capping the amount of mutations that a Nursery Bean can inherit from birth to a maximum of 6.

When we made Mutation Potions (and all other traits) easier to obtain by having them available at all times, we hadn't realized how creative you all could be in applying them to your beans! Beans now exist with six, seven, even eight or nine mutations at once. We think this is extremely cool, and we love to see what you all come up with! However, one thing we hadn't really foreseen is how this would interact with our breeding system- that is, guaranteed inheritance, specifically. Meaning that when two beans with the same trait breed, that trait is guaranteed to pass down to their offspring, no matter what the trait is.

As you might imagine, these two elements working together makes for a future in which mutations are inherited more and more commonly as each generation breeds, eventually possibly culminating in breedings where both parents have 15+ mutations that each baby is 100% guaranteed to inherit... That wasn't exactly what we had intended- so before it can get to that point, we're making this change. We didn't want to get rid of guaranteed inheritance entirely, so this seemed like a good compromise.

Why 6 mutations specifically? A few reasons- first being that we looked at recent breedings, and that seems to be a decent average number. We wanted to be fair to beans and pairings that currently exist, and not cap it lower than what people are currently getting on average. The second is that, using a Shiny MYO, the maximum number of mutations you could potentially apply without using additional items is 6 at once- so this basically just keeps Nursery Beans and NMYOs from completely outclassing SMYOs in what they can do. Of course, users are still welcome to apply additional potions to their Nursery Beans- this limit only affects what they can inherit on their own without items. We also want to make sure the fun of RNG is preserved- so if a nursery bean has more than 6 mutations it would normally inherit, we will still randomize which 6 will actually be passed down.

We know this is a bit of a change, and we really appreciate you guys being patient with us as we work out the kinks between our old systems (like breeding) and our newer stuff (like unlimited mutations.) It's a bit of a bumpy ride, but we are so glad that you are right here with us!

SUMMERTIME LINEART

2023summerlines.png

As the weather gets warmer and we move into Summer, we have a new set of free lineart for you all! You can click here to download this season's lines. It includes a background, as well as separate lineart for two beans- so you can include both of them, or just the sitting bean if desired. Both beans include all standard ear and tuft options.

Our spring lines are cycling out- they'll be available again next March!

May Changelog

Quite a few things on site have changed!

Our site has been updated to PHP 8.1! This means we are now up-to-date with the current release of Lorekeeper, and will be more easily able to install compatible extensions.

Our site is now protected by reCaptcha version 3. I wish all bots a very nice Die. This means registration is open once again.

Fixed a minor display issue with birthdays and joindates on user profiles.

Fixed a minor glitch that sent users to a 404 page when trying to view a MYO slot sent to them by a staff member.

Fixed an issue with image sizing on the home and encyclopedia pages.

Font Awesome is now installed onsite. Although users unfortunately cannot make use of the icons, you will see them popping up here and there as decorations.

Header and Navigation fonts onsite have changed. Some navigation has been slightly rearranged.

The age requirement onsite has been updated to 16, to match the changes made to our ToS sometime back. Users currently under 16 will be grandfathered in, but new users will not be able to register until they are at least 16 years old.

Users can now authenticate their accounts using Toyhou.se instead of Deviantart!

Items can now be sold directly from your inventory! Resale values are 5% lower than original shop sale values- it's not much, just a little Bean Tax to encourage users to trade amongst each other before going straight for resale.

New shop features have been added, making it possible for items to restock more frequently than once in a lifetime. Breeding Spells now restock in the Build a Bean Workshop every week.

Birthday rewards have been implemented on site! In order to protect user privacy, the reward will not be given out unless a user has revealed at least their birth month via the display options in Settings- otherwise someone would be able to find that information themselves just by looking to see when a user got the item. 😳 If a user has their birth month/birthday at least partially visible, they will be granted a special birthday item on the 1st day of the month!

That is ALL! So yeah, we made a TON of changes last month. We definitely expect there to be questions, and potentially even weird buggy stuff. Definitely let us know via a ticket onsite or in our discord server if you have questions or encounter any weirdness related to all the new stuff we installed. I will do my best to squish any bugs you find. As always, thank you for your continued support!

JBD News (MAY 2023)

Welcome to May! This month is a bit content-light as we gear up for some upcoming new stuff. Read on!

QUESTING

April's quests have now concluded! Three lucky winners have won a Shiny MYO- our winners can be seen here!

As we hop away from April, we have some new quests available!

Lenny enjoying some time at the beach.

Side quests have been updated for the new month. As usual, they can be found and submitted to here!

You may notice the quest end times this month are a little odd- we'll touch on that next!

A SHORT BREAK

Our prompts are working a little differently this month, as staff is taking a short break. Submissions of all kinds will be closing on May 7th, at 11:59 pm site time. They will reopen at the beginning of June. Due to this break, this month's prompt is a double! This month's main and side quests will be available through both May and June, and can each be submitted to twice. Users can feel free to work on their quests during our break, and then submit them once we are back. The raffle will end when June is over.

You may notice funky stuff popping up on-site or changing during this time. Any and all changes will be addressed in June's News once we return! 🤭

MYSTERY JBD

Our game of Mystery Bean continues! Same rules as before- one guess per person, and every user who guesses the bean correctly will win an equal share of the 1000 token prize pot!

Last month we had a whopping 40 winners guess the correct bean- the lovely JBD-1644, owned by coavadeer! Each user who guessed correctly will be recieving their share of the prize- 25 tokens apiece! The tokens will be sent out later today. EDIT: tokens have been sent!

April Changelog

A few small things around the site have changed!

Favor has recieved some lovely new art!

Going forward, references approved for use on the masterlist will need to be sure they are displaying the species' distinctive traits- meaning that lip fur should be present on all approved references where the mouth is visible (though it can certainly be subtle!) Additionally, as JBDs do not have pawpads, they should not be present in masterlist references. You are still free to simplify the feet on the ref as paws instead of claws, as long as no pawpads are visible.

Prize Eggs are no longer earnable from prompts, as April's quests have ended- however, the hidden Prize Eggs can still be found on site and claimed until May 3rd! Check the previous news post if you need a clue to get started.

Breeding is currently still closed, but mateship has reopened! It will be available until the 7th, when it will close along with everything else. Get those beans smoochin'!

Aaaand that's everything! We hope you enjoy this month's updates. As always, let us know in the discord or in the comments here if you have any questions!

JBD News (APRIL 2023)

Spring is finally here! Let's all get ready to hop into the month of April with today's newsletter.

Notice (4/28/2023):
A few additional prize eggs have been hidden around the site! Not including the 6 that are obtainable from our Main and Side Quests, there are 5 to be found. The eggs will be obtainable until May 3rd, 11:59pm site time. After that, they will vanish- and the next day, the four egg raffles will be rolled.
Your first clue: Our first egg can be found with a colorful character!

QUESTING

March's quests have now concluded! One lucky winner has won JBD-3506, while four others have each won a Multi-Tail tonic. Our winners can be seen here!

With March already fading into the past, we have April's quests ready to go!

Tod participating in Haricot's annual Egg Hunt.

✦ The Great Lentilian Egg Hunt ✦

In a tradition that dates back to the draconic age, beans of all ages and kinds come together in April to celebrate the great Egg Hunt. Supposedly, this bizarre holiday came about initially due to the nature of dragon eggs- namely, the fact that they became rather mobile as they were close to hatching. It was common in the spring for soon-to-hatch eggs to hop or roll right out of their nests, prompting a frantic search by returning parents- one that often ended in finding a hatchling rather than an egg! Thankfully, it's rare for eggs to roll off on their own, now, thanks to the beanlike shape of JBD eggs.

Of course, all these years later, JBDs still love a good egg hunt. Just about every major city in Lentilia has their own event planned, but none more so than Haricot! The Haricot Egg Hunt is famous even outside Lentilia for its sheer size and the number of hidden eggs, as well as the tricky surprises those eggs contain. How many will your beans find?

Depict your bean participating in this year's Egg Hunt!

BONUS: On top of the usual 100 token reward, three lucky winners will receive a SMYO!

Side quests have been updated for the new month. As usual, they can be found and submitted to here!

LOST EGGS

0423bunegg.png

Uh oh... speaking of eggs rolling off on their own. It's rare for eggs to hop up and roll away, but not exactly unheard of. It looks like this year, a few eggs have managed to wander away. Maybe someone will find them while they're out hunting for prizes? We can only hope! Keep your eyes peeled for Prize Eggs this month- each one will contain a raffle ticket for each one of these four eggs, in addition to a random prize!

MYSTERY JBD

Think you know your beans? Then maybe take a shot at our new game: Mystery JBD !

0423.png
Click here to send in a guess!

At the beginning of each month, we'll randomly choose an existing JBD from the masterlist. Then we'll zoom in and crop a small part of that JBD's design. If you can recognize the JBD just from that small part of the design, send in your guess to this google doc here! At the end of the month we'll close the form and look to see who, if anyone, got it right.

Any user who guesses correctly will win an equal share of the prize pot: 1000 tokens! This means that if only ONE user manages a correct guess, they will win all 1000 tokens! If 10 users all guess correctly, they will win 100 tokens each! We ask that even if you're 100% certain on what bean it is, please don't share the answer around and spoil the fun for others. As this is a brand new monthly game, we'll keep an eye on it and see if the rules, difficulty level, and/or prize amount need adjusting for later rounds. We hope you have fun and enjoy the little boost in tokens, if you win! ^_^

SEASONAL FREE LINES

0423lines.png

Starting this month, we'll have some seasonally rotating free to use lineart available to JBD users! These lines will be available until June 1st, at which point they'll be replaced with something more summer-themed. We hope you take the opportunity to grab 'em while they're available, and we hope you have fun using them for your springy beans!

March Changelog

A few small things around the site have changed!

Two brand new scrapbooking prompts have been added! Tell us all about your bean's favorite thing to do, and their least favorite person to see.

Bronagh and Scooter's Job prompts have been properly added to the Job Board.

Aaaand that's everything! We hope you enjoy this month's updates. As always, let us know in the discord or in the comments here if you have any questions!

JBD News (march 2023)

Hello everybean! Hopefully everyone's been faring well this past month, and coming into March ready for some big news! We've got a lot to cover in this issue of the Newsletter, so buckle up and get ready for a ride!

QUESTING

February's quests have concluded! We have 5 lucky users who have won a Breeding Voucher as a special raffle prize for completing the main quest. You can check out the results of the raffle here. Congratulations to our winners, and to the lucky beans that are about to be parents!

With February done, March's quests have now arrived!

Roo is on a walk near Lima Lake, but feels something is off. A seven-tailed beast can be seen in the distance behind him.

✦ A TALL TAIL ✦

The snow across northern Lentilia is starting to melt away, and with it, many JBDs are spending time enjoying the outdoors again. One thing in particular has the little town of Lima Lake buzzing with activity- residents have been claiming to have seen a strange seven-tailed monster lurking in the woods by the lakeshore! Of course, Lima Lake is known for these kinds of monster stories, usually using them to drum up tourism at the beginning of spring. This time, though, the proof just seems to be piling up, and tons of monster enthusiasts are flocking to Lima Lake to try and catch a glimpse- and maybe a photo- of the beast.

Depict your bean on the hunt for the seven-tailed beast of Lima Lake! Do they actually think it’s real, or are they trying to prove it’s a hoax?

BONUS: On top of the usual 100 token reward, ONE lucky winner will receive JBD-3506!! Four additional winners will be drawn to receive a Multi-Tail Tonic!

Side quests have been updated for the new month. As usual, they can be found and submitted to here!

Multi-Tail Tonic?

You might be wondering what this is- it's the first of a brand new type of cosmetic item that grants just one specific mutation!
This particular item will grant a JBD the Multi-Tail mutation.

More items of this nature can be expected to pop up in the future, as they will allow us to give out specific mutations as themed prizes to match specific events or prompts! (As an example, a Fins mutation item might pop up as a reward during a beach-themed event, or perhaps something spooky like Eye Glow may be given out during Halloween!) We have some additional plans for these items as well, but that's information for another time. ;-)

Goodnight, official linearts

The time has come for us to officially make our official linearts unofficial.

To be more clear, the commonly-used V2 and V3 linearts are no longer standardized bases with their own set of special rules- they are now just regular bases.
What does this mean? Read on.

Recently, you may have sometimes sent in a JBD on the V2 or V3 lines with traits redrawn from the ones packaged with the base, but were told that they appeared too similar to standard traits to pass as custom. In these cases, you were generally asked to either change the art to be more distinctly different from our existing standard trait, or revert the lineart to the one that came pre-packaged with the base and list the trait as being standard. That is no longer the case.

Now, if you send in a JBD on the V2 or V3 lineart with standard traits redrawn in your style, we will simply ask you to list them as a standard trait (and possibly add some Removal Powder or a Small Trait Potion, if they originally had a custom trait/different standard trait.) This is because every part of the V2 and V3 linearts can now be redrawn- just like any other base. As long as the trait looks like a standard trait, it will be accepted and approved as a standard trait. If it looks like a custom trait or mutation, it will be accepted and approved as a custom trait or mutation. If you've been using custom references or bases other than V2 or V3, you may have already experienced this! We're basically just making our "official" bases work like any other reference that comes through our queue.

Here are a couple examples of beans showing off their redrawn (but still very standard) traits!
(If you like them, you can even enter to win them here!)

V2 and V3 linearts are being reclassified as "Free to Use Lineart", and will be joined by a new free to use base, as well! Please enjoy editing these bases to your heart's content- change their expressions, redraw their ears, change their tail's pose. Be free.

(Though do keep in mind- they are still bases made by another artist! Please be respectful and don't do anything to them that you wouldn't do to any other base you've downloaded for free. This also means that they shouldn't be redistributed elsewhere or claimed as your own work!)

JBD Resale/voucher/trade terms

As promised, we've been workshopping our terms for JBD resales and vouchers. To be transparent, our previous rules left a lot of unintended room for abuse, and we are sorry for that. Our new terms are intended to make things more fair for both the potential buyers of a JBD, and for the original artist of that JBD, especially in the case of JBDs that they put time and effort into creating for free.

JBD RESALE VALUE

Your JBD's resale value is determined by two things:

1. The original purchase price of your JBD.
2. The added value of commissioned art. This is the total cost of all art that was commissioned of the JBD. This includes the initial cost of a design if you used a MYO slot but paid another user to design it for you. This does not include any personally drawn art or art that was gifted to you for free, only commissioned work.

These two values added together form your JBD's resale value.

We will not be tracking total resale value onsite, only the original purchase price, which will continue to be publicly viewable on each JBD's ML entry. It is up to users to keep track of the value of their commissioned art, if they would like to sell for the JBD's total resale value. In order to resell your JBD for their resale value, you must have the art on hand to be able to show your prospective buyer what they are paying extra for. It is okay to only show thumbnails/heavily watermarked images until the sale is complete- you just need to show your buyer proof that the commissioned art exists before they complete their purchase.

If a user reports abuse of this system, staff may ask to see the extra art themselves to verify that it does indeed exist. If a user is found to be abusing this system by raising the price for art that does not exist or by lying about the cost of commissioned art pieces in order to inflate the JBD’s resale value, they may be subject to strikes or bans from the species as necessary.

trades, vouchers, and resales

Exchanges of JBDs for goods and/or services are defined in the following ways:

TRADE - User A exchanges their JBD for goods owned by User B, or for services to be performed personally by User B.
(ex. trading a JBD for a JBD, or trading a JBD for art)

VOUCHER - User A exchanges their JBD for goods that User B will purchase, or for services to be paid for by User B but performed by a third party. User A should have some sort of good/service already in mind before seeking vouchers, as vouchers cannot be run like auctions with open-ended value. The price of a JBD's voucher does not need to match their resale value 1:1, but should remain reasonably close (within $30.)
(ex. vouchering a JBD with 0 resale value for a character that is currently UFS for $30, or vouchering a JBD with a $50 value for a video game that costs $60.)

RESALE - User A exchanges their JBD for currency that has some kind of real-world value, such as USD, CAD, or gift cards. JBDs can only be sold for an amount lower than or equal to their resale value.

These new terms mean that if you own a JBD with a resale value of 0 (such as a free JBD that has no commissioned art), you may voucher them for goods or services that cost $30 or less. If you own a JBD that you won from a free raffle but have purchased $100 worth of art of them, you may resell that JBD for its full resale value of $100. If you purchased a JBD via auction for $500 but have purchased $150 worth of art of them, you may resell that JBD for $650. All beans can still be traded freely, with no changes to those rules.

Remember- if you wish to sell or voucher for a JBD's resale value, you must have the extra art on hand. If you purchase a JBD via resale but then delete all of its art and there is no art to pass on to a new owner, you will only be able to resell for the JBD's original price! Hold onto that art if you think you might resell your JBD someday! It doesn't need to be public, you just need to be able to pass it along to the new owner somehow.

Thank you for your understanding and patience while we've been working on this. These new terms will go into effect starting on March 8th. Until then, if you have any JBDs you have been intending to voucher under the previous rules, please get them taken care of as soon as possible.

February Changelog

A few small things around the site have changed!

Fortune has been updated with a shiny new reference image!

A new item has found its way into Flux's Restyle Salon! The Permanent Marker item is the marking equivalent of the existing Color Dye item, allowing for extreme changes to a JBD's markings, but leaving their color palette largely untouched.

The price of Color Dye has been raised slightly to 350 to match its new counterpart, and make it so the two together have the same cost as a Magic Mirror (which has the same effect as just using both of these items at once.)

Whew, that's all for today, folks! Thanks for sticking with me and reading everything. We imagine there may be some questions about this month's updates, so please don't be afraid to ask here or in the questions channel of our Discord server. Have a happy March! ^_^

JBD NEWS (FEBRUARY 2023)

Welcome to the first JBD Kingdom Newsletter! Going forward, we'll be posting onsite at the beginning of the month to update users on any changes made in previous months, as well as potential sneak previews of upcoming changes to the site. Some months we'll have more to say than others, but we'll make sure to keep you all updated!

QUESTING

January's quests have concluded! We have 5 lucky users who have won a Shiny MYO as a special raffle prize for completing the main quest. You can check out the results of the raffle here. Congratulations to our winners! We hope you have a lot of fun making some special beans.

With January behind us, February's quests are now available!

✦ Where the heart is ✦

With much of Lentilia still experiencing wintery weather, beans look to those they care about most to help them stay warm and happy during the tail end of the cold season. Whether it's friends, family, a special someone, or maybe even themselves, everyone seems to have some bean they care about deeply. Although they can't be together all the time, even a quick chat on the phone or a heartfelt letter does wonders for keeping the spirit warm in times like these.

Depict your bean spending time with someone they care about- or perhaps spending time reminiscing, if their loved one cannot be with them.

BONUS: On top of the usual 100 token reward, 5 lucky winners will also receive a Breeding Voucher !

Side quests have been updated for the new month. As usual, they can be found and submitted to here!

NEW NPCS

We have some new faces around town!

You may have seen Bronagh around already, but she's been updated with a full introduction. It looks like her adoption center isn't fully ready to open just yet, but in the meantime, it seems like she could use your help cooking dinner for everyone . There are quite a few mouths to feed, so grab your chef's hat and apron and make your way over to the Job Board to complete this new prompt!

Your next new friend is Scooter, the ever handsome and clever -ahem- one and only publisher of Haricot's premier homemade newspaper, the Kingdom Gazette! Bringing you the news once a month, this young entrepreneur is always looking to expand his newspaper's readership. If you think you have what it takes, head to the Job Board and see if you can come up with an article good enough to be in the paper!

JANUARY CHANGELOG

Last month saw a few things change around the site- as usual, for real time updates, you can check our changelog in the discord server.

All mutation example art has been updated, including brand new examples for mutations that lacked them, such as Chitin or Oversized Hair. You can check it out by clearing your cache and heading to the Trait Encyclopedia!

Two of Dare's shop items, the Mutation Potion and Transmutation Polish, have received new art. To see them, clear your cache and head to the back alleys of Haricot.

A few of our non player characters seem to have opened up a bit! NPCs 1-4 have had their descriptions updated with a little more information. <3

Our beloved Dr. Seamus is back- he will not be returning to his previous position as a discord bot, and will instead be opening his own private practice as a desktop program. This means we are once again able to automatically roll NMYO and Nursery Bean traits, and Breeding Vouchers are available to buy once more.

Taking into account the rate at which folks are getting tokens, the demand for Breeding Vouchers (and the flood of them that tends to come in) and the increased workload that comes with getting the resulting NMYOs created, their price has changed to 600 tokens (for a single baby) and 1000 tokens (for twins)!

However, for those that have been holding onto just enough tokens to buy a Breeding Voucher in anticipation of their return, worry not!! Both items have a listing in the Build-A-Bean shop at their original price (350 tokens for one, 600 for two) that can each be purchased once per user and are available for all of February- so you can still get in there and buy that voucher you've been saving your tokens for.  Just keep in mind that this discounted option will be going away when March comes, so make sure to run in and  grab it before then!

Thanks for your patience while our bot was down, we hope you have lots of fun with NMYOs in the future!

LOOKING AHEAD

It sounds like the Queen is expecting a large group of guests sometime early next month. Don't tell anyone, but I managed to grab a copy of their RSVP letter! I wonder what these beans will be like? Guess we'll just have to wait and see!

I've also heard that Dare's organization, the Dragonsfang Syndicate, is ramping up their attempts to recruit new blood after a big bust last month ended up getting a ton of their members caught. Now the Queensguard is getting ready to host some kind of big recruiting event themselves, to try and keep the situation under control... Apparently both groups can be pretty convincing. Let's just hope nothing too big comes from this, eh?

As a quick heads up, we will be changing JBD resale and voucher rules in late February or March! These terms will give users more freedom when reselling, but in turn will restrict voucher allowances. These terms will be pre-viewable and announced a week before they will be officially implemented so users can get all of their vouchers and resales in order before then!

And that's it! Thanks again for tuning in, and have a happy February, everybean!

Doodle-style comic of two JBDs. One offers the other some orange juice, but upon drinking it, they develop a bunch of custom traits!

❄️ JBD 2023 Advent ☀️

🌨️

You’ve heard the stories about the past winters in Lentilia from some of the older beans, painting tall tales about present and new friends who would fill the longest and shortest nights of the year with such brilliant cheer. For the past few years, however, you had seen no such thing! Though you’d never admit it, secretly, you always harbored hope that such a thing was real. Every day in December you’d walk by the palace gardens and sneak a peak to see if any of those fabeled visitors or gifts were in there…

Much to your surprise, after so many weeks of pretending not to look, through the grand gates you saw Evergreen and Roo decorating the garden that was so barren the day before! Roo, with his reindeer covered in glimmering jingle bells, waved to you. You pretended to be looking at something else but couldn’t help but get excited when you heard:

“Our new friends are on their way! They’re just a little late!”

🌲🌴 It’s that time of year again! 🌴🌲
Whether you’re enjoying the summer heat or the winter snow, we hope you have room for a few more festivities and friends in the days to come! While our new friends are en route, remember that each citizen of Lentilia can only bring one friend this year so everybody can share the winter spirit!

I wonder who’s going to be coming…

Day 1: Sugar Cookie
Day 2: Teddy Bear
Day 3: Seasons Come and Go
Day 4: Precious Gift
Day 5: Mistletoe
Day 6: Hot Pot & Bok Choy
Day 7: Sled DogSled Dog(?)
Day 8: Festive Singer
Day 9: Snow Globe & Tree Topper
Day 10: Gnome for the Holidays

Each user can only win one bean during the JBD 2023 advent event. If you win a bean, entries for other beans will be automatically disqualified!

Beanboozled 2 (And our 11th Anniversary!)

Posted 6 months ago :: Last edited 5 months ago by star

November 25th marks today as the 11th Anniversary of Jellybean Dragons! 🥳
When we moved Jellybean Dragons to Deviantart, JBD staff made pairs of beanboozled themed JBDs to welcome users back to the species.
As we have migrated to a new site once more, we thought it would be fun to do it again!

These JBDs will all be raffles — some for sale and some for free. To enter the raffle of the JBD you want, all you have to do is guess what their flavor is!

There will be a sales post for each design "pair" and a comment thread designated for each bean. You will be given two flavors to guess between.
You can enter for as many JBDs as you want, but you will only be able to win one.
If you want to boost your chances at winning, you will be able to earn up to 2 extra raffle tickets to put towards any JBD.
Be careful though! If you guess the flavor wrong, none of your tickets will be counted!
You may not enter on someone's behalf or "donate" your extra raffle tickets to other entries.
To get an extra raffle ticket, post about us and the event on a site of your choice and then reply to your commont containing your guess with a link to your post.
(Make sure staff can access it or you will not get the ticket for that guess!)
To get both tickets, you must post on two different websites. (Ex: Toyhouse and Deviantart)

These raffles will close for entries on December 2nd (one week) at 11:59 PM site time.
